Spring Break in Ohio!

                Here are my kids enjoying the spring break weather. I was hoping for sunshine and a dry yard!

Third day of Spring Break......

This morning the kids and I went to the library. Got lots of books. Tonight we had dance. JD stayed with grandma and grandpa which was nice. Getting ready for the girls Pump it Up party. Not exactly sure what that involves so it should be interesting. Sounds like a lot of fun for the girls. Tomorrow is another day of dance. Whoo hoo!

Second day of Spring Break.....

I made my first sponge cake today. It was really yummy. I took it to my cousins house and everyone ate it up. There is a little bit left for my husband. I hope he likes it to. When the girls and I get together we bring snacks and we try to make something. Sometimes it is dessert or an appetizer but it is always something good. While we sip our tea or coffee we eat our creations and decide what our next project will be. We have decided next week that we are going to make jackets out of tshirts. They are to wear over sundresses or sleeveless shirts. I can't wait to see how they turn out. Our friend Hannah has a friend who is a missionary to Jamaica and she made these jackets to wear over her sundress. They are really cute. I will post a picture of it next week after we make them.

Lazy Sunday!

Finally a day with nothing to do! I did however decoupage my kitchen shelf today. It turned out really cute! I tore pages out of an old cookbook and glued them to a wood shelf. Once I got the entire shelf covered I put polyurethane over the pages. It took two coats but it turned out super cute. I can't take credit for the idea. My cousin Jackie did it last week to a small shelf with a drawer. Hers was done with William Shakespeare's Othello. It was an old copy and it turned out really cool. I will post pictures of it later.

Cleveland Competition

Well we went to the Cleveland Competition today! The girls did very well. I didn't feel they were judged fairly but, I'm not a dancer. I am very proud of all of the girls who have performed so far this weekend. Going to relax the rest of the weekend. Working on decoupaging a shelf. I hope it turns out.

No dance on Thursday????

I get email today telling me there is no dance on Thursday! I'm like WHAT?!? This weekend is the big competition for the big girls so she is closing the studio early. It will be a nice break. I wish it was next week because we are on spring break. Oh well. I want to tell my parents Happy 20th Anniversary!!! Love you both very much.

LONG WEEKEND!!!!

I do enjoy the weekends because I get to spend time with my hubby. This however was a very long weekend. Yesterday was dance, then the anniversary party.(which they had no idea about!!!) Another surprise for us was my brother was able to make it. We all had a great time. Went to church this morning. After church went with friends to watch the "pioneers" make maple syrup. It was really cool. Then off to the grocery store. I am finally sitting down. (thank God!) Starting again tomorrow.

Party time!!!!

Today my cousin and I baked and decorated 3 layer cakes. I am exhausted!!! My sisters and I are throwing a surprise anniversary party for our parents. Homemade decorations and food. My sister is going to DJ. I hope they are surprised. We have worked really hard to keep it a secret ;) We shall see how it goes. (there is dance tomorrow.....)

Happy St. Patty's Day!

This morning Brooke is ready for school. The bus will be here in 5 min. She then realizes it is St. Patricks Day and she needs to wear green. I say its to late and she throws a huge fit. "I will get pinched!" Well I didn't want her to get pinched so we ran around to find something green and get her changed before the bus comes. We make it by the skin of our teeth. Mornings are crazy around here!

Well there is no dance today so, I will tell you about the other things going on around here. We got 12 chicks. Unfortunately one of them died so we are down to 11. My husband just had to build a bigger home for them. They are growing so fast. Soon they will be running around outside! We are working on getting the chicken coop ready. (actually my husband is) I will post pictures of the process. We are turning a camper into a chicken coop. It will be like a chicken condo. Hopefully you will get some ideas from my posts.

Yet another day.....

Yesterday was another dance practice. JD wants to dance with those girls soooo bad. I keep telling my husband I am going to sign him up when he turns 3. They are getting ready for the second competition of the season. It is in April. I hope the practice pays off and they do well at this one. They have been working so hard. They look really good.

Again....

Today is another dance day. They changed the schedule so we only have to go for 45 min. It is usually 2 hours. We have spins and turns and ballet. I hope JD will stay out of trouble tonight. He wants to dance with the girls so bad. I told my husband when he is old enough I want to sign him up for tap. He says "NO WAY!" I don't think there is anything wrong with boys dancing. It was alright in the old movies. What has changed that makes it wrong? I don't know. I might just sign him up anyway ;)

Dance, Dance, Dance

Another day of dance is here. Don't know if I feel like doing it today. I always feel better once I get there. It is just getting there sometimes! They have adjusted the schedule for today. I don't mind, it gives us a short day tomorrow. Only a couple of months to go, then we get our break.

Another Day!

Got a chance to go out with the girls last night. Had lots of fun. Now we are back to dance world. We have practice again today! Tap and Jazz. Only a few months left of the season. But we will not be done oh no! We have summer Ballet! That will be two nights a week! At least it gets us out of the house. It is fun.

Wednesdays!

We have dance every Wednesday. It is from 4:30 to 7:45. Makes for a longggggg night. First we have tap, then a 1 hour break. We come back to do tumbling and then ballet. I don't know how she does it! Then she comes home and does 3 pages of homework. She is conked out now. We have another night of dance tomorrow night. Then again on Saturday! But they are getting better. I hope the next competition they do awesome.

Well Sunday was the last of the pictures.(i think) They went pretty well. Now I have to decide what I want to get. They always turn out so good. Last year she had really bad chapped lips so it made her lips look huge! Those weren't hard to turn down. She is having so much fun with dance this year. I am so glad she has found an activity she loves and is good at. I think if she didn't she would play her DS or sit and watch way to much TV. It keeps her busy!
